Some stats from the closing ceremony:
This is the 5th time we've run the CTF (sometimes as Cisco/Portcullis, this year mostly as @timb_machine). This year we had 106 challenges covering a scavenger hunt, hashes to crack, PCAPs to parse, binaries to reverse and vulnerable services to exploit.
Jonty was retired from the scavenger hunt however he did make a re-appareance in the form of a limited edition sticker. We also misplaced a USB stick which formed the base of a cryptographic challenge. We'll be looking for it in 2024.
All in all, 16 teams registered to play. There were 411 correct flag submissions as well as 976 incorrect submissions. Full marks to the Grace Hopper folks (who you might remember from 2018). Having come 3rd, as students, pre-COVID, they came back in 2022 with a plan to clean up, and clean up they did...
The final scoreboard for the top three places looked something like this:
